Across the UK, many local arts centres work with refugees, asylum seekers and new migrants, offering workshops and activities in a creative environment. One such is artsdepot, a dynamic arts centre in North Finchley in London – they run a project called Roots and Wings, for different ages, including women.

Cathy Aitchison visited a group of women refugees at artsdepot and recorded some of their poetry. She also spoke to artsdepot education manager, Inga Hirst, about the project as a whole. Click on the link below to listen.
